HOW IT WORKS
VFISH will publish the current specie on the CURRENT TARGET SPECIE page.
Anglers must fish on one of the VFISH Perpetual Servers which are set to allow any validated venue.
The server addresses are on the Target Specie page
HOW TO JOIN THE SERVER.
The AIM is to be the first to catch the CURRENT TARGET SPECIE at ANY weight. (also see Rule 2)
The longer the specie takes to catch the more points that will be awarded.
Bonus points will be added for species that are difficult to catch.
There will be a pause of between 1 and 3 minutes between each specie. The screen will show "Please Wait Selecting Next Specie" and will change to the next specie in a few moments.
Note that these can change quite quickly so look at the CURRENT TARGET SPECIE page often.
You can set an alarm to tell you when the target specie is changed - the time will be between 15mins and 3 hours if a specie is not caught.
NEW RULE 1): Reducing points...
When an Angler has achieved over 10,000 points the points will be one half (1/2)
When an Angler has achieved over 25,000 points the points will be one third (1/3)
When an Angler has achieved over 50,000 points the points will be one third (1/3) and no bonus points will be added
NEW RULE 2): Increasing weights...
If an angler catches the same target specie that has been caught by him/her previously on this challenge and it is a bigger weight than caught previously, the angler will get a 50 point weight bonus.
Please remember to set your Time, Venue and Peg before logging into the server.
The server time will be free choice. 2 rods are permitted.
NEW RULE 3): Caught on recent venue bonus... (Nov 2007)
If the Target Specie is caught on any of the listed recent venues then
an additional 50 points will be awarded regardless of the Rank of the
Angler.
A list of the recent venues is displayed in RED under
the Target Specie Image on the Target Specie Page.

NB: Multiple connections to our servers will cause catches to be ignored.

Simple Steps to follow
Start up FS2
Continue to the screen that has a "ONLINE" button at the bottom.
Click Online.
Click Server
Press the "back space" key until the numbers have all gone.
For Server GAMMA type "78.32.38.241" or "78.32.38.242" (without the quotes)
Click Close then Connect and then Go Fishing
Tip: Look in your 'Record Catches' within FishSim to see where you have caught them before.
Tip: Use the VFISH "Upload your catches" system to see your previous catches when you view a specie, Venue or Peg page.
Tip: Put more effort into the harder species - 1 x 30points is less effort than 6 x 5points.
Tip: Use light tackle - any size counts.
Tip: Create a mixed bait box with sea and fresh baits.
Tip: Search your "catches.txt" for the specie to see where you have previously caught the specie.
This is not for the feint hearted. It requires tackle and bait management skills as well as monitoring the Website to see if the specie has been caught and knowing the waters. It is not a sit there with the screen minimised and wait for the Boorrr-Beep! Watch the line - wait for the exact amount of time and HIT that bite !! Having a balanced SEA/COARSE/FLY set of tackle will help, but should you concentrate on one of them? You will need to adjust your tackle to suit the specie, time of day and the venue. Occasionally there will be more than one specie to catch - pick the easy one? Low points! Hard One? High points but the easy one may be caught first. Good luck anglers and above all have a good time.
