Caution for Non-Validated Venues

Non-Validated FS2 venues always bear a greater risk of corrupting your FS2 installation.
Always scan the various forums to determine whether the venue has been rejected for some reason e.g. corrupts your specie stock files or images.

Some venues are not validated simply because they are not 'realistic' angling venues.  For example an Outer Space fishing lake  or a venue may not have fish at all but rather may contain objects such as old boots, radiators, pipes and maybe crabs! Other venues fish far too easily. These are generally grouped together and called Fun Fish venues.

Any Venue that we hold records for on VFISH has been installed on at least 2 machines and no problems have been note.

This is not to say there are no problems. Just that we have fished them and not encountered any.

Some venues are now being added which may affect your personal records on your own computer.  They will not affect any records you hold on a remote system such as VFISH or fishsim.net, those records are stored remotely from your machine.  They will however show as your local records when you use the "RECORDS" button on FS2.

If you want to avoid this the solution is to copy the whole of your FS2 directory to a new location such as c:/FS2-PLAY/ and then only add your Fun Fish venues into that installation.

Remember to make yourself another link on your desktop or in your start menu if you want easy access to both installations.  Name the links appropriately.
