So What can I do here? What can I find out?
Some examples
Q. How many records are there for Rudd?
A. From the HOME page click "RECORDS" then "Species" the from the drop down box select "Rudd".
Q. What fish are in River Lot?
A. From the HOME page click "RECORDS" then "Venue", find River Lot in the drop down list.
Q. Who has the most records?
A. From the HOME page click "RECORDS" then "Angler" this will give you a list with the Angler with the most records at the top. To find the Angler with the least records click the column title (white on grey) which says "Recs". That will show the number of records starting with the least. To look at the next page of records click the next page number at the bottom of the table.
Q. How do I find out which are the easiest venues?
A. We have not gathered enough information yet to be able to show this. Trawling some of the bulletin boards on the LINKS page may help.
Q. Who has been fishing the longest on FishSim2?
A. VFISH can only tell you who caught the first records and when there most recent one is. From those dates you should be able to work out the person with the biggest span of record dates.
Q. How do I find out any new stuff on VFISH?
A. Always keep an eye on the "NEWS" page. The bottom section shows you planned activities as well as changes we have made. We suggest looking at least once a week at this page.
Ask us more questions and we will post the replies here
Miscellaneous
Q. How do I join a server to play online?
A. Get to the page where you select a venue, click the "ONLINE" button, click the "SERVER" button, enter the ip address (e.g. 84.45.182.109), OK that, click the "Go FISHING" button.
Fishsim will then connect to the server.
You will need to have the venue installed. Remember to change your baits before entering. If it hangs press CTRL-ALT-DELETE at the same time and kill the fishsim process.
Q. I get the following error when trying to submit A RECORD WITHIN fISHsIM2:.
Looking for site www.vfish.co.uk - > Site located successfully.
Retrieving current records for Venue Name
ERROR - CANNOT ALLOCATE SOCKET, PRESS ESCAPE TO CONTINUE
A. On Windows XP only a certain amount of sockets can be allocated.
This message can sometimes imply that you have a virus consuming most of your sockets.
You can check that the VFISH records system is running correctly by checking other recently submitted records
Q. What does VFISH mean?
A. The V = "Virtual" and the FISH bit is "Fishing" so its "Virtual Fishing".
Q. Can I become an OP in the forums?
A. Currently the level of posts in the forums does not warrant any additional top level admins. However we are looking for admins from various non-english speaking countries.
Please email admin2@vfish.co.uk if you are able to offer assistance with non-english forums and are willing to spend a few hours a week helping. This may change in the future.
Q. How much does it cost to join VFISH?
A. Access to the basic VFISH default level records will always be FREE. We do not require or accept donations or payments for this.
Q. So what is in the non basic access?
A. There are currently no additional features to which everyone does not have access. The hosters "Novatechnix" do offer additional Non VFISH features such as web hosting and email accounts. Please contact them if you need any of these services. (The link is at the bottom of every page) At some time in the future we hope to offer additional things like Club Records and Club pages as well as Individual member pages but these are only in the 'thinking' stage and may or may not happen depending on demand.
